April 4, 2009 at the Sunflower Cluster, in Wichita, KS at 12 months old and only 6 weekends out showing Rio finished his Championship with a 5 point major going Best of Winners.
At the shows in Ft. Worth, Texas Rio was recognized as the first Award of Merit at the DPC of Dallas Specialty. That same weekend Rio goes Best of Opposite Sex to his litter sister, Mya's Best of Breed.
Rio wins his first Best of Breed in November 2010 in Springfield, MO.
Rio crossed the Rainbow Bridge on May 23, 2013 due to complications of intestinal obstruction. He is forever loved and missed.
